Is it possible to criticize alternative therapy and psychics without sounding like a witch-finder general?
I don’t mind people believing in things that are wrong, but these branches of religion interfere with medicine, and exploit the grieving and ill.
How can you tell someone their loved one isn’t speaking through a $ 500 an hour magician, and aromatherapy isn’t going to cure their cancer, without sounding like a jerk?

My mother put off Chemotherapy while she experimented with Oxygen therapy. By the time she attempted traditional treatment the cancer had moved to her brain. Her’s was a lingering death.
I wish we had known she was doing this at the time. The truth should be spoken clearly. I would not worry about how it sounds.
I have tried not to believe in that stuff, but several years ago a woman made a very specific prediction, actually she made 2. The first was that my pregnant wife was going to have a son. I thought 50/50 chance there (I was a bit cynical). The second was that my wife would suffer kidney failure and that the results would be extremely serious. It happened exactly as she predicted. Look at the odds of that happening, no 50/50 chance there
How is it any different to christians praying over their sick child.
People need hope. Sadly there are people in this world who will take advantage of that.

Of course, but is it possible to criticize without sounding hateful & ignorant. Not in this posts case.
How do you know what is right or wrong? faith is not a solid issue, but a fluid one, which each individual has to find their own relationship with. Your opinions are based on the fact that your religion is correct, it is simply correct for you.
Magicians do childrens stage shows or adult ones, what has magic got to do with any alternative therapy. As a psychic, meditation teacher, spiritual healer & Hypnotherapist, anyone who wants to pay anyone $ 500 an hour for anything needs their head read.
The word alternative means that it is meant to work in conjunction with medical therapy, to enhance the emotional & mental well being of the individual which in turn enhances the physical.
Maybe a deeper look into the reality of what your talking about may lead you to a differing opinion.
