That is a serious mental illness. I don’t think you can cure it with herbs. The only thing that comes to mind is fish oil capsules, St. John’s Wort and Ging Quae – but they would in no way be replacement for real medicine. Best luck.

Schizophrenia is a severe psychosis. Your mother should be under the care of a psychiatrist. In addition to that, she should be eating nutritious meals and supplementing with vitamins and minerals as needed.
In traditional chinese medicine….schizophrenia (and other mental illnesses) are thought of as non-substancial phlegm blocking clarity from reaching the mind. sounds wacky but thats the general thought. Treating a patient would require sessions of acupuncture and herbs. You would need to speak to an experienced acupuncturist as you can understand how dangerous it would be to treat someone who isn’t “there” all the time. A cure can’t be promised but improvement may be achieved with a lot of patience and dedication. Good Luck!
