Books on Alternative medicine and the governments fight against it?
I am having trouble finding books that are clear on that. As in proving that Alternative medicine is better and should be a growing part of health care rather than (only) pharmaceuticals.
Anyone know of any good ones?
it can even be an argument about pot.. how that should be legalized.. ya know.. and other herbal remedies…

pharmaceuticals = bad. everyone should kno herbals the way to go. Its kind of obvious that govt fought alternative meds. since prohibition was meant to kick hemp production. BIG oil companies were pissing ther pants.. till they controlled the govt or manipulated the govt to support there money in pharmaceutical companies.

Wow, you are really tackling a huge topic. Alternative medicine is a wide ranging field. Some ‘alternative” treatments are widely accepted in western medicine and are regularly prescribed with pharmaceuticals, such as giving calcium to people with osteoporosis or giving folic acid to people with celiac’s disease. Other alternative treatments are not so well supported, like saying that pot treats cancer (I’ve seen this claim for pot). It can even be argued that alternative medicine even covers using crystals for healing and psychic surgeries.
Considering the scope of the subject, you may want to pick and choose a few well established alternative medicine products that has been widely researched to try and argue that those products are better for a specific medical condition than the pharmaceutical counterpart, instead of trying to get consensus on all alternative medical products.
Limiting yourself to books is probably creating your problem. Try using the internet as well. It may take a while to narrow down your search to something useful, but the amount of info out there is incredible.
Make sure you incorporate the government regulatory and administrative bodies in your search. The FDA and CDC should come up in your topic of interest.

You should look into NCCAM, which is run by MDs – as bit of a conflict of interest there.

Well government will not really fight it.
If it’s somewhere legal, it’s a source of income for them.
You know that many of the members are parasites,
and also specialists in hiding that behind a self-purifying theory
(that’s why a lot of them are lawyer, masters in misleading).
What is better?
You shouldn’t try and find books about that.
At both sides, altmed and regmed there are retarded persons.
So start thinking by yourself rather than being misled by someone else’s authority.
Decide for yourself what is working best.
You can be the person that takes responsabity for his own health,
or you can remain ignorant and believe many of the misleading sources that are out there.
You might do better in your search if you were to understand the way it all works and how it does or doesnt work together.
What the ‘government’ does and doesn’t do, what the FDA does and doesn’t do, what each type of health approach does, then the politics and huge money influence of the medical and big phamaceutical companies , and the pressure they put on everyone so they can control everything.
It might be a good place to start if you were to contact teaching hosipitals around the country , Presberterain , Columbia , Uni of Colorado, and the many others that have integrated departments that include traditional chinese medicine and acupuncture now , and find out that they are daily proving that acupunture does work , et al.
There are strong critics and supporters in each corner .
The medical mafia is trying to shut down anything it doesn’t control.
